This Is How We Roll

Time sure has gotten away from me.  The kids and I are now in a pretty groovy routine, but it leaves little time for me to do things like get on the computer for more than two minutes.  So I owe everyone some pictures and the latest news.  Here goes.....

Wesley had his four month check-up a couple of weeks ago.  He weighed 15 pounds 5 ounces and was 24.75 inches long at that time (which Adalynn didn't reach until she was 6 months old), putting him in the 60th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for height.  This surprised us because we assumed he was bigger than that considering he's wearing 6 month size clothing already.  Seriously, does this look like a baby that is only "average" size-wise?

For the most part, Wesley's lifestyle is about the same as it was earlier this month when I last updated the blog.  He still drools like no other; I'm starting to think he's part St. Bernard.  He still is inconsistent with his sleep patterns (he will sleep all night one evening but the next night will wake up once or even twice).  One thing that is different is that he now finally has shoes that fit.....

And the other thing that is new is that he's now rolling over!  He surprised us this morning by rolling from his belly to his back for the first time.  He didn't do that again the rest of the day, but this evening he rolled from his back to his belly four times - also a new development.  He's quite proud of himself.  Here he is trying to get back onto his back again (but was unsuccessful).

Naturally I didn't have the camera out in time to capture the first roll.  Grrr.  My only fear now is that Wes is going to be so busy with his new trick that he won't sleep at night (hence, neither will I).  We'll see what happens.  I checked out Adalynn's "firsts" in her baby book, and she rolled for the first time at 7 months old.  Interestingly, she sat up unsupported before she ever rolled, which Wesley hasn't accomplished that yet.  So there is one thing that she has "beat" him at.
Adalynn is still a fantastic big sister.  She's been encouraging Wesley in his rolling, tries to make him smile and laugh, and plays with him as much as he is willing.  She's also changed a little bit herself.  I've seen her imagination grow in leaps and bounds recently.  One day she started dragging all of her Barbies and stuffed animals out into the living room.  I asked what she was up to, and she said they were going to a show.  Sure enough, she put on a crown and ended up singing and dancing for her audience.   Here they are (partially - I couldn't get them all in one shot).....
Thankfully, she's pretty good about cleaning up.  In other Addy news, she has had fun at the various water parks in town recently......

And she enjoys spending time with her horse... I mean with her dad....

Basically, things are going well here.  We attend Mom's group at our church every Monday, story time at the library every Wednesday, go to a playground once a week, go to a water park once a week, and maybe even get to the mall once a week.  These activities keep our days busy, and we do vary it up a bit by adding in some of the other free events that the QC has going on this summer.  I still try to make sure Addy gets some learning and craft time whenever Wesley allows in-between his feeding and crying schedule.  And of course I am busy trying to keep the house somewhat clean and the laundry done and meals prepared.  It's exhausting, and I kick myself nearly every day for not having kids when I was younger and in better shape!  So anyway, now you know how we roll.  :)
