Adalynn's Room
BEFORE
Adalynn's room had creamish/tannish colored walls and dark brown curtains. Thankfully the carpet is neutral (although worn - but we don't have the finances to replace it right now). Prior to when we moved in, there was a deer head on one of the walls and she was so worried that it would stay. Poor girl! She insisted on having a pink room so I had the fun job of trying to find a pink that didn't appear as though we were drowning in a Pepto-Bismol bottle when we hung out in her room. Not sure I was successful with that.
AFTER
Here is Adalynn's new pink room. Although there is pink in her bedding, I wanted to make sure that the main color of the bedding wasn't pink so we wouldn't be too overwhelmed with the color. So her room is purple and pink with some white, green, and turquoise. Initially I was going to get her bedding with one of the characters that she likes (princesses, hello kitty, etc) but in getting flowers and butterflies I'm hoping she'll stay interested in it and will be willing to keep it for longer.

The dark brown trim and closet isn't exactly appealing, but we just can't afford to replace the trim and closets and doors right now. The whole house needs replacements, but that will be a project for later on down the road. I suppose we could paint her doors and trim white, but we're exhausted at the moment so if we do decide to that, it won't be for quite a while.

Aside from painting, we also replaced the blinds in Addy's room and curtain rod, the light fixture on her ceiling fan (not pictured) and replaced all her wall plates to white to match her furniture.
Wesley's Room
BEFORE
AFTER
All of Wesley's walls are now a light grayish blue. We kept the hardwood floors but custom-made a square shaped rug so he can play on the floor without getting hurt. We replaced his ceiling fan light fixture, and his blinds and curtain rod and painted his wall switch plates to match (almond color). The dark trim and closet work with his room as it already is.
AFTER
Wesley's room is in-between themes at the moment. He still has the animal nursery bedding and curtains, but we're transitioning into a sports theme which we will completely move him into when he moves into a toddler bed later on.
