Despite the fact Wesley is nearly four months old, we have
finally reached the blissful 3-month mark that every parent loves..... you
know, the newborn phase where they finally stop crying all the time and start
to sleep a bit more and are finally aware that there is a world around them. Wesley still typically gets up once each
night (usually around 3:30-4:30am) but every now and then he'll sleep all
through the night for anywhere from a day up to a week, which is
wonderful. Yes, he still gets fussy (particularly
in his car seat, which he detests) and at night, but it's not the non-stop
fussiness that can't be stopped. We now
know that if we put him in Adalynn's bed, or turn on the vacuum, or lay him on
his changing table, chances are he'll stop crying. He also is much more in tune with what is
going on around him and even has shown a teensy-weensy bit of interest in his
toys, much to Adalynn's delight. (She's
been wanting him to "play" since the day he was born). And being a typical male, he's quite
intrigued by the television. I already
popped in a Baby Einstein video for him the other day, and he watched most of
it. (Adalynn didn't have an interest in those videos until she was 9 months
old). Wesley loves to have
"conversations" - he coos, gurgles, and chats in his own little way as
long as we talk back at him. He will
also laugh now, and while his laugh is not nearly as huge and funny as
Adalynn's "Fat Albert" laugh when she was a baby, his chuckle is
still cute in its own Beavis and Butthead kind of way. As for appearance, Wesley's eyes haven't
changed to brown like everyone assumed they would. Currently his eyes are still hazel, like
mine. He's losing his hair more and more
each day, and he strongly resembles a balding old man. (So when people say he looks at me, I can't help
but think I need a serious makeover!) Wes is getting longer, and while his legs and
face are chunky, he still is slim around the middle and in the arms. I remember noticing with Adalynn that she
didn't have any wrists, and Wesley still has wrists so therefore he's not
chunky yet. Haha. Wesley does have one very bad habit - he drools nonstop. I have water spots all over my kitchen and dining room floor from his drool spatter as we carry him around. He basically has to wear a bib at all times, otherwise the front of his shirt gets soaked. It truly is disgusting. :)
That second picture is my favorite of him so far. How can you not love it? Adorable! Keep the pictures coming :)
